Nosgoth
is an unexpected entry in the popular Legacy of Kain series, a new
chapter which was requested by thousands of fans for many years. Square
Enix decided to bring the series back to life in a surprising manner –
Nosgoth is a competitive, team-based free-to-play third-person PvP
multiplayer game where Humans are fighting
against Vampires with the grim Legacy of Kain world serving as a
backdrop to the bloody struggle. Players will be able to choose between
these two factions (Humans and Vampires) and use their specific skills
and abilities to take the upper hand in the arenas. No prior knowledge
of the series is required since Nosgoth unfolds in a new timeline.
Vampires boast supernatural abilities
like flying and superior agility while humans are more specialized in
the use of diverse weaponry (bows, flamethrowers…). Developer Psyonix
claims that they’re trying to provide a fair experience that won’t
penalize players that don’t spend money in the game and the decision to
go free-to-play with Nosgoth was to get as many players enjoying the
game as possible.
Nosgoth plays in the same way as games
such as Forge, with different arenas (Sommerdamm is one of them, a
besieged fort) where the two factions fight until one of them is
annihilated.
